Summary:I am focusing on the barriers which are making communication with current Western feminist theories difficult for both women and men in Czechoslovakia. My point is that current feminist theories cannot be separated from the development of postwar Western thinking and writing about society and culture. Therefore, I suggest examining the sources of such barriers in the broken psychoanalytic tradition, in the deformed marxist tradition, and in the actual lack of deconstructivist approaches in my intellectual context—in other words, particularly in those traditions out of which and within which many feminist currently work.
