Summary: | Recent interest in social experimentation has focused on changes in the dominant theory, preference for randomized experiments rather than quasi-experiments, improvements in design of quasi-experiments and concerns related to generalization of causal relationships. Theoretical issues concern theories of causation and categorization, internal and external validity, priorities of validity types, treatment implementation and ruling out biases. Issues related to generalization concern random sampling, proximal similarity, replication, meta-analysis and causal explanation. |
