Description
Summary:Explores the impact of provincial state intervention on the economic development of the French population in Quebec, drawing on a case study of a corporation that was nationalized to be modernized. Findings show that modernization generates economic practices that seem to cut themselves from society by an instrumental rationality that favors technical & economical mediations of reality. This hypothesis seems to contradict the idea of an economy rooted in the familial, community, & national tradition; however, it must be tested in the context of recent corporate culture & participatory management. 37 References.
