Grand Central Terminal and the City Beautiful in New York

The Grand Central Terminal, completed in 1913, has been overlooked by studies of the City Beautiful movement, perhaps because Grand Central was a private rather than public building endeavor. The impact of Grand Central on the urban development of New York City is discussed.
