Summary: | Uses interview & questionnaire data to examine the relationships between lack of remorse & phenomenology of antisocial personality disorder, drug history, preadmission psychosocial functioning, & characteristics of index episode of treatment among 140 drug abusers with antisocial personality disorder in residential addictions treatment in MA & RI. Lack of remorse was associated with a more severe & violent form of antisocial personality disorder & increased comorbidity with mood & anxiety disorders. Implications for tailoring addictions treatment to remorseless antisocial clients include the need to identify & treat comorbid emotional disorders. 2 Tables, 45 References.
