Summary: | Women released from a local jail in a western city encountered for
midable barriers when they attempted to learn about and make use of
resources in the community for the economically disadvantaged. This
seven-month study examined structural and programmatic factors im
peding delivery of the services and suggests that high recidivism rates
among women released from jail may be, in part, a consequence of
discriminatory policies and the general unresponsiveness of com
munity agencies. |
