Summary: | Described is the program at the Isaac Ray Center at Rush Medical Coll (Chicago, Ill), an ambulatory forensic clinic established in 1978 to develop services for the potentially violent mentally disordered offender. The three-part intervention, involving assessment, treatment, & followup of offenders, is detailed, with a brief case discussion provided as illustration. Preliminary results indicate that the center has been successful in averting recidivism (50%) & in providing treatment intervention for this population, as well as in helping to integrate the mental health services within the criminal justice system. 1 Table, 17 References.
