Description
Summary:The processes of regional integration in Latin America have focused until now on free trade agreement, passively adapting to the economic interests of globalization led by transnational companies, but have been unable to solve the problems of poverty, inequality, unemployment & the lack of labor & social rights suffered by a large part of the population. This article, presenting the framework of the monograph, analyses the new scenario developed in the region in recent years, & the possibilities it opens up for a wider & more balanced process of integration, with special reference to recent summits & the role that the social partners & social dialogue can play in the improvement of the labor & social conditions of the people of Latin America.
