Summary: | Investigates US trends in intimate partner homicide stratified by relationship type & race, 1976-1995, using data from the Supplemental Homicide Reports & the Current Population Survey. Rates of homicide victimization decreased during the past 20 years among all intimate partners except white, unmarried females. Results replicate previous findings regarding downward national trends in partner homicides, but with three methodological differences. The analysis examines spouses & ex-spouses separately, uses denominator data specific to the population at risk, & includes same-sex partners. 6 Tables, 26 References.
