Summary: | A very brief description of Ronald Fraser's interviewing method, geared to find the centre of gravity in each person. Three interviews implying three different ways of recounting history are presented as examples. An illiterate woman helps to understand history told in the 'classic' way, a survivor of Mauthausen gives us an approach to the work of remembrance, & an impostor introduces us to the present reality where each individual is "what he or she tells him or herself" The lecture ends with a metaphorical comparison of music & memory, & an experience shared by the author with Angela Giral, granddaughter of the ex-President of the Second Spanish Republic, looking at a work of art.
