Summary:This is a case report of a 50-year-old male patient who had septic shock with anaerobic bacterial septicaemia coming from a spontaneous left femoral osteomyelitis. The combined treatment with antibiotics, surgery and hyperbaric oxygenotherapy restored normal mobility of the lower limb. Two years later, there was no recurrence. Despite many efforts the aetiology of the disease is unknown. The authors, discuss the relevance of hyperbaric oxygenotherapy in such cases.
