Summary: | This study investigates the underlining factors that motivate households to participate in a pilot source separation and recycling program in Turkey. The data of this research were collected from randomly selected households in the program area via face to face interviews based on an inclusive questionnaire. The results of logistic regression analysis show that having sufficient knowledge regarding recycling and the recycling program is the most statistically significant factor in determining whether a household will participate in recycling. The results also imply that some of the socio-economic and demographic characteristics of household hypothesized to affect the household decision to participate in recycling, in the research framework, are not significant. |
