Description
Summary:This paper reports the antibiotic consumption data of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi and bacterial resistance over a seven-year period. Cephalosporins, penicillins and fluoroquinolones were the most widely prescribed antibiotics. A correlation was seen between Escherichia coli resistance to third-generation cephalosporins and increased cephalosporin use, as well as resistance to co-amoxyclav and its use.
