Here are some of the available programs that can be useful in a family practice: 1. OpenOffice is a free office suite software bundle that handles nearly all the functions of Microsoft Office. 2. AVG Anti-Virus and ClamWin are two anti-virus software options. 3. MobilePDR and Epocrates Rx Free are free drug references for handheld personal digital assistants (PDAs), available for both the Palm OS and Windows CE platforms. 4. Firefox is a free, open-source Web browser born out of the old Netscape Navigator Web browser, and it offers many of the same features as Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
