Description
Summary:Tremendous efforts have been made to develop and implement methodologies and mass spectrometric methods for the study of the monomeric constituents of nucleic acids. Banoub, et all put in perspective the progress in current biotechnological research in this area by highlighting the most popular ionization methods, especially when used in conjunction with tandem mass spectrometry, and illustrating the diversity of strategies employed in the characterization and sequencing of DNA and RNA oligomers.
