Summary:Research studies in biomedical journals are increasingly scrutinized, not only for their scientific findings and clinical and public health implications, but also because of concerns related to conflicts of interest of investigators and concerns about misleading reporting of industry-sponsored research. Fontanarosa et at review and update the policies for authors reporting conflicts of interest and disclosing financial support and other paid contributions for their work, as well as the requirements for reporting of industry-sponsored studies.
