Description
Summary:Acting on the public policy goals and priorities established by the Board, AORN members volunteer as state and regional legislative coordinators, serve on the Legislative Committee, and provide information to elected and appointed officials and their staff members to advance our goals. What we bring to the important work of public policy change is our knowledge of nursing, health care, and patient safety; our passion and commitment to make health care better and safer; and our desire to preserve and promote nursing and the services we provide and the care to which we are committed. Then, when the opportunity is right for advocacy and activity to secure those legislative or regulatory changes, you will be a ready and powerful ally, joining with other AORN members and nursing colleagues to deliver a coherent and focused message in a timely and effective manner in coordination with AORN Government Affairs Department staff members.
