Summary: | Gallbladder cancer is a relatively unusual, but often lethal malignancy. Surgical management has historically been palliative only; however, with the advancement of techniques in hepatobiliary surgery, varying extents of surgical intervention have been advocated for cure. This article reviews the current approach to the surgical management of gallbladder cancer and discusses the rationale for an aggressive approach to this disease. |
