Summary:An unlikely hero: Selective small‐molecule recognition of a specific DNA secondary structure, instead of hybridization, can be exploited to template catalysis between two reactants. Here, we show that a proline‐tethered quadruplex DNA, as shown in the figure, can serve as catalyst for the aldol reaction between a porphyrin‐bearing aldehyde and a ketone.
