Altered Biodistribution of Tc-99m MDP in a Uremic and Severely Malnourished Patient Supported With Enteral Nutritional Feeding

A 25-year-old man with stage IV anaplastic nasopharynx carcinoma had a bone scan with Tc-99m MDP, which did not reveal any bone metastases. However, significant tracer uptake was observed in both lungs, myocardium, stomach, and thyroid, possibly secondary to uremia and severe malnutrition.
