Summary:Sinusoidal fetal heart rate may have a spectrum of occurrence that indicates degree of fetal morbidity. Twelve cases of intermittent sinusoidal fetal heart rate were reviewed for fetal outcome. Findings of anemia, low umbilical cord pH, and large base excess support that intermittent sinusoidal fetal heart rate may be an early indicator of impending fetal compromise.
