Summary: | A 34-year-old female previously diagnosed to be suffering from eosinphilic pneumonia and an eight year history of asthma suffered weakness and pain involving both legs. On examination, crackles and rales were present throughout the left lung. Imaging studies and thoracic lung biopsy were carried out. The observations led to the diagnosis that the patient was suffering from Churg-Strauss syndrome (CSS), a disease characterized by peripherical eosinophilia and vasculitis affecting multiple organ systems. |
