Preoperative parathyroid scanning in secondary hyperparathyroidism
The surgical management of primary hyperparathyroidism can be successful in 97-98% of cases. In either form of hyperparathyroidism, success of surgery depends on the intraoperative identification of all abnormal parathyroid tissue.
