Summary: | Renal scan findings are presented from a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus with antiphospholipid syndrome who developed right renal vein thrombosis (RVT) followed by recurrent RVT on the left. Clinical manifestations and radiographic findings in RVT are variable, thus making diagnosis difficult. Scintigraphy has been neither sensitive nor specific enough for diagnosis and commonly has been used to assess the level of renal function and the side involved. Scintigraphy also has been used to monitor the recovery or deterioration of renal function after RVT. |
