A polymorphic microsatellite marker in the rat major histocompatibility complex class I gene, RT1.M4, and a new recombinant RT1 haplotype, r39
The class I gene RT1.M4 is located at the telomeric end of RT1, the rat major histocompatibility complex (MHC), within the RT1.M region, which was defined by the recombinant haplotype r38. Analysis of the RT1.M4 gene revealed an informative simple-sequence length polymorphism (SSLP) marker. Together...

Summary: | The class I gene RT1.M4 is located at the telomeric end of RT1, the rat major histocompatibility complex (MHC), within the RT1.M region, which was defined by the recombinant haplotype r38. Analysis of the RT1.M4 gene revealed an informative simple-sequence length polymorphism (SSLP) marker. Together with previously described SSLP markers in the RT1 region, the M4 repeat might facilitate the screening of large panels of offspring for intra-MHC recombinants and the mapping of genetic traits within the MHC region. |
