Kizer Cardioaortic embolism accounts for a substantial proportion of cerebral infarcts and is often associated with high stroke severity and poor prognosis. This report reviews clinical aspects of diagnosis and treatment of brain embolism of cardiac and aortic origin. Particular attention is given to newer cerebrovascular imaging modalities, identification of the emboligenic culprit as the cornerstone of diagnosis and management, and appropriate therapeutic strategies, as informed by the latest studies and professional guidelines. |
