Association between genetic polymorphisms in the human interleukin-7 receptor α-chain and inhalation allergy

Summary Thymic stromal‐derived lymphopoietin (TSLP) and interleukin‐7 share a common receptor chain, IL‐7Rα. IL‐7 is involved in T‐cell homeostasis, and TSLP induces production of pro‐allergic cytokines. The gene encoding the IL‐7Rα chain is polymorphic, and investigation of inhalation allergic pati...

Description
Summary:Summary Thymic stromal‐derived lymphopoietin (TSLP) and interleukin‐7 share a common receptor chain, IL‐7Rα. IL‐7 is involved in T‐cell homeostasis, and TSLP induces production of pro‐allergic cytokines. The gene encoding the IL‐7Rα chain is polymorphic, and investigation of inhalation allergic patients compared with controls showed significant association with two alleles at position +1237 and +2087.
