Thrombus on an ASD closure device: A call for caution

Use of per-catheter atrial septal defect closure devices is becoming increasingly widespread. We report a case of left atrial thrombus formation on a StarFLEX TM device raising concerns regarding the general use of these devices and as a means of preventing paracloxical embolism in particular.
