Summary: | Managed care, which now dominates the changes that are taking place in the organization of services for people with serious mental illness, is only the most recent of several cycles of reform over the past 150 years in the care and treatment of people with schizophrenia. The question now is whether clinical management systems can be combined with financial incentives to increase the likelihood of high-quality treatment outcomes. A case study illustrates his question from the perspective of clinical reality. |
