Summary: | Introduces a special journal issue addressing the increased need & popular support for home care benefits at a time of reduced funding at both the federal & state levels. Three main questions are addressed: (1) the goals of home care from the perspective of clients & society; (2) practical applications of efficiency & cost-effectiveness to measure the benefits of invested resources; & (3) how to determine public & private responsibilities of home care. Three principal themes emerge: the importance of consequences, the primacy of opportunities, & the impact of relationships between care recipients & care providers. 14 References. T. Noland |
