Description
Summary:This report describes the design and methodologic features of the Aggressive Lipid Lowering Initiation Abates New Cardiac Events (ALLIANCE) study, a 4-year, population-based, open-label randomized trial. ALLIANCE will determine whether aggressive lipid-lowering therapy with atorvastatin will decrease the time to first ischemic event compared with usual medical care in patients with established coronary artery disease.
