Amiodarone is a drug used to treat potentially lethal ventricular arrhythmia. One of the known side effects is thyroid dysfunction. In patients who cannot safely discontinue amiodarone or when medical therapy is ineffective in controlling thyrotoxicosis, thyroidectomy is the treatment of choice. |
