description | Background. Pincer nail deformity is a common nail disorder that sometimes necessitates surgical intervention. A multitude of therapeutic modalities has been implemented to treat this condition.
Objective. To describe the use of the carbon dioxide laser in the successful treatment of pincer nail deformity.
Methods. This is a case report and literature review.
Results. A 63‐year‐old man was evaluated and treated with the carbon dioxide laser for a persistent pincer nail deformity. The patient tolerated the procedure well and had an acceptable surgical outcome.
Conclusion. Pincer nail deformity may be successfully treated with the carbon dioxide laser, especially when a partial matricectomy is performed. |
