The tumor contained many apoptotic cells identified by histology. In addition, the apoptotic events were investigated using various morphologic techniques, including electron microscopy, the in situ end-labeling technique, and immunohistochemistry to confirm the caspase-cleaved keratin 18 rearrangements. |
