Summary:Cystic nephroma is an uncommon, benign renal lesion. We report the first case of local recurrence of a unilateral cystic nephroma in an adult. Only three cases of recurrence in bilateral cystic nephroma have been described in the literature before. Other renal lesions may not be differentiated preoperatively from cystic nephroma and thus require surgical exploration. Long‐term follow‐up is recommended to rule out local recurrence.
