Sequence of an rbcS gene from cotton

The sequence of a rbcS gene and partial rbcS cDNA from cotton (Gossypium hirsutum ) have been determined. The genomic sequence contains 520 5' untranslated nucleotides, 335 3' untranslated nucleotides, 546 coding nucleotides and two introns of 101 and 92 nucleotides. This yields a deduced...

Description
Summary:The sequence of a rbcS gene and partial rbcS cDNA from cotton (Gossypium hirsutum ) have been determined. The genomic sequence contains 520 5' untranslated nucleotides, 335 3' untranslated nucleotides, 546 coding nucleotides and two introns of 101 and 92 nucleotides. This yields a deduced RBCS pre-protein of 182 amino acids with a molecular weight of 20 518. The cDNA sequence has 16 differences with the genomic sequence in the 326 nucleotides compared, which have resulted in only three amino acid differences.
