Summary:A 63-year-old male with diabetes mellitus and hypertension was admitted to the hospital with a 1-year history of weakness and symptoms typical of Cushing's syndrome. On examination he had proximal muscle weakness and a sensory level at T6. Magnetic resonance imaging of the spine showed multiple vertebral fractures and posterior thoracic epidural lipomatosis with cord compression at T6 (figure).
