Summary: | An abdominal scan with Tc-99m RBC was performed on an 86-year-old man who was hospitalized for lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Data were acquired continuously for 60 minutes, and the study was reviewed from a cine display. A persistent focus of abnormal activity was seen in the right upper quadrant under the liver. Differential possibilities included aneurysm, varix, hepatic hemangioma, and possible bleeding into a cavity, diverticulum, or the gallbladder. A computed tomographic scan and Doppler ultrasound of the abdomen acquired 16 months earlier showed a hepatic artery aneurysm. |
