1,2-Dications in Organic Main Group Systems

The authors cover the structure and chemistry of 1,2-dications--compounds with two cationic centers located at two directly connected atoms. Despite the extremely strong electrostatic repulsion of the two positive charges, 1,2-dications often possess remarkable kinetic stability.
