Location, size, and morphologic characteristics of left atrial thrombi as assessed by transesophageal echocardiography in relation to systemic embolism in patients with rheumatic mitral valve disease
The present study demonstrated that LA thrombi with an irregular surface, left atrial SEC of moderate to severe intensity, and the absence of severe mitral regurgitaion were independent predictors of recent SE in patients with rheumatic mitral valve disease.
