Summary: | By means of suitable reduction and oxidation reactions, [V$\rm{{{\rm IV}\hfill \atop 4\hfill}}}$V$\rm{{{\rm V}\hfill \atop 2\hfill}}}$O7(OCH3)12] (see picture) can be converted into three further representatives of this cluster with varying VIV/VV ratios ([V$\rm{{{\rm IV}\hfill \atop n\hfill}}}$V$\rm{{{\rm V}\hfill \atop 6- n\hfill}}}$O7(OCH3)12](4−n) with n=3, 5, 6), even in the cationic form which is unusual for the classic polyoxometalate‐forming metals V, Nb, Ta, Mo, and W (n=3). |
