Description
Summary:In 200 consecutive patients with first coronary heart disease (CHD) events, the rates of 3 of the 4 traditional risk factors were significantly lower in patients with lipoprotein (Lp(a)) greater than or equal to 30 mg/dl, with the total number of 4 traditional risk factors being 1.53 plus or minus 0.88 compared with 2.12 plus or minus 0.96 in patients with normal Lp(a). The prevalence of family history of premature CHD was also >2 times as great in the high versus low Lp(a) groups.
