Summary: | In chronic heart failure, carvedilol induced subjective improvement in functional capacity (New York Heart Association class) that was not paralleled by objective changes in cardiopulmonary indexes. However, the presence of a restrictive left ventricular filling pattern and/or lower exercise tolerance may identify subgroups of patients in whom carvedilol may be particularly effective also in improving exercise capacity. |
