Effect of carvedilol on exercise tolerance in patients with chronic heart failure and a restrictive left ventricular filling pattern

In chronic heart failure, carvedilol induced subjective improvement in functional capacity (New York Heart Association class) that was not paralleled by objective changes in cardiopulmonary indexes. However, the presence of a restrictive left ventricular filling pattern and/or lower exercise toleran...

Description
Summary:In chronic heart failure, carvedilol induced subjective improvement in functional capacity (New York Heart Association class) that was not paralleled by objective changes in cardiopulmonary indexes. However, the presence of a restrictive left ventricular filling pattern and/or lower exercise tolerance may identify subgroups of patients in whom carvedilol may be particularly effective also in improving exercise capacity.
