Ozone: Decomposition by Ionizing Radiation

The decomposition of ozone by ionizing radiation is explained by a negative ion-chain mechanism. That this mechanism may be pertinent is indicated by the results obtained from the irradiation of liquid oxygen and the irradiation of oxygen containing nitrogen.
