Summary:Two new secolignans, 3,4-trans-3-hydroxymethyl-4-[bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)methyl]butyrolactone (1) and 2,3-trans-3,4-trans-2-methoxy-3-hydroxymethyl-4-[bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)methyl]tetrahydrofuran (2), together with six known compounds, were isolated from the whole grass of Selaginella sinensis (Desv.) Spring. Their structures were elucidated by NMR and MS experiments.
