Description
Summary:In the past two decades, the problem of the effect of water solutions of biologically active compounds (hormones, peptides, pesticides, poisons, antioxidants, etc.) at ultralow concentrations on biological systems at different levels of organization--from macromolecules, organs and tissues to animals, entire organisms, and even populations. The concentrations of biologically active compounds whose efficiency could not be explained until recently from the commonly accepted standpoints of physicochemical laws are regarded as ultralow. We take the concentrations of biologically active compounds below 1013 M as ultralow based on the maximum affinity of ligands for receptors.
