Description
Summary:The task of providing nursing service for a children's psychiatric ward in a mental hospital presents many knotty problems in nursing education and administration. The nurse has been presented as a potential therapist in ward groups on a small children's psychiatric ward. The formation of several ward groups was described. Suggestions were offered for the training and supervision of nursing personnel with the purpose of orienting them to the therapeutic management of groups on the ward. It is hoped that this report will be a stimulus to further exploration in the relatively new but growing field of orthopsychiatric nursing.
