Summary:In order to summarize and analyze the internal relations of tumor formation and metastasis to blood-stasis syndrome and the influential factors of blood-activating and stasis-resotving drugs （BASRD） on tumor inhibition and metastasis, and to grasp the opportunity of selecting and using BASRD, the authors have retrieved by the computer the relative literature published from 1985 to 2006 in Full-text Database of Chinese Periodicals with ＂BASRD＂ and ＂cancer＂ as retrieval words. The result has shown that the proportion of BASRD and the appropriate time of taking them should be carefully grasped in treating cancer with Chinese and Western drugs. Different dosage and potency of BASRD should be used for different syndromes and stages. At the early stage of interventional treatment, the use of drugs for replenishing qi and activating blood can not only enhance immunity and reduce metastatic rate of cancer but also increase long-term survival rate.
