Summary: | We describe two cloned genomic DNA fragments, both bearing the entire apo very low density lipoprotein II gene. Electron microscopy
and restriction enzyme mapping showed that this gene is split into at least four coding sequences by three or more intervening
sequences. A very short exon at the 5'-end of the gene is separated by a 1.5-kilobase intron from the second exon, which codes
for the AUG initiation codon of the mRNA. |
