Summary: | The electronic patient record (EPR) system at the Osaka University Medical School hospital is undergoing development and will be operational in a few years. The quality and maintainability of both the conventional charts management and the Hospital Information System are closely connected to each other to establish the EPR. The EPR development comprises amongst others the dynamic template driven entry system which is one of the optimal solutions for physicians' direct date entry. To make the EPR system practical, the security and privacy protection rules should be established and related technologies should be developed in accordance with global and domestic harmonization and standardization. |
